What We Want and What We Need

How is it that what we think we want is not always the case? It is not until the consequences of our desires are exposed do we see the need of a lesson to be learned. We must carefully consider and research our actions needs. For instance, an impulsive purchase can lead to unnecessary debt. Do we learn the lesson or do we repeat the action with potentially more costly consequences.

An outburst of anger can cost a friendship or a marriage to dissolve. A hasty word wounds the heart and may lead to emotional infection which can long lasting. Why does the need to have the last word cause such pain?

Feelings of insecurity can be strong motivators causing us to plunge ahead and deepen the need to be heard. Some get a second chance to correct the errors of their ways, and others do not even get the chance to try. Life is filled with many questions that cry out for answers.

God is the only one that can correctly determine what is best for us. He is the only one that knows what we really need or what we think we want.
